Swim Team Organized by Elizabeth Schultze and Ted Freedman The WG Swim Team is open to all interested students who can swim at least one length of the pool. This is not a 'learning to swim' class, but is open to kids that have never raced... Its a LOT of fun ! If you join, please plan on attending as many practices as possible, and you MUST show up to the Meet, even if you decide not to compete, to support your teammates. Practices: Will be held Mondays March 15 - April 12, 3:30-4:30 at the Salvador Perez pool on Alta Vista st. Please have your children there in time to change into bathing suits and be on the bleachers by 3:30 with goggles in hand! We will usually say a few words, then the kids will take a quick rinse and separate into lanes. The Meet: Will be held Sunday, April 18th, beginning at 8am... and usually is over by 1pm. The participants entry to the Genoveva Chavez Center is covered by their registration fee, but spectators are asked to pay a $2 admission fee to help pay for the pool rental time. T-shirt Design Contest Form : [click here] to print one out CALL FOR WG PTC SWIM TEAM VOLUNTEERS We need Parent Volunteers to help with the following: SWIM COACHES (8-10 coaches) Assist Coach Ted Freedman and Dan Baker by helping children in the pool with their swimming techniques and keeping order 'on the deck' Need to be at all swim practices (Mondays 3:30-4:40) at the Salvador Perez Pool Also helpful to be at the Swim Meet SWIM PARTY/T-SHIRTS/MEDALS (1 or 2 people) Help Elizabeth Schultze with ordering T-Shirts / Medals for kids Attend Swim Meet Party (Thursday before the meet: 3:00pm) to pass out T-Shirts Attend Morning Assembly in April to help pass out medals after Swim Meet SWIM MEET BOOSTERS (as many as will volunteer!) Need to be available for Swim Meet 8a-1p-ish... Need Timers at the blocks for races Organize kids for various events Help organize chaos, cheer, and have fun!
