Chess Club, January - March 2010

Announcements updated 12/30/2010 Chess club will begin on Wednesday, Jan. 5th. Parents of Kinders will meet in the cafeteria. All other volunteers should come to the library. Chess club begins right after school. It would therefore be helpful for volunteers to meet me a little early for our first outing. If possible, say around 2:10.


General Information

  • Registration information will be sent home in flyers. Registration and payments are due by Dec. 18th, 2010.
    You can also download and print the form yourself if needed!

  • Open to all grades! (no experience necessary)

  • Meets Wednesdays 2:30pm – 3:30pm in the Library

  • Starting January 6 through March 3

  • Wood Gormley Tournament

  • Participation in Outside Tournaments again this year

  • End of Season Party (Wed, March 17) / Chess Medals for all Chess Club Participants

Guidelines

  • Students in Kindergarten must always have one parent present during club meetings (Kindergarten and beginning students meet in the conference room for more personal instruction)

  • Parents must pickup their children on a timely basis and in the library (for safety reasons)

  • Registration forms must be filled out by all participating students so that we have contact information

  • $10 Fee to cover club expenses

  • Sign in form during each chess club meeting

Reminders:

  • Each Chess Club Member should play 2 games outside of WG each week and record on your player's record sheet

  • Send Snacks each week with your child - they're hungry after school!
